Man Points Gun at Firefighter's Face at Hudson, NH, Building Fire

April 9, 2025
Firefighters were trying to evacuate the apartment building when they were threatened.

Two Hudson firefighters were threatened with a gun as they tried to evacuate a man from an apartment.

Daniel Herbert, who refused to leave,  took a gun from his waistband and pointed it directly in a firefighter's face and chest, according to court testimony.

After the encounter, firefighters backed out of the structure and called police, who took him into custody.

Herbert's attorney attempted to get him out of jail, telling the judge that his life had literally gone up in flames.

But the judge refused, ordering Herbert remain held without bail.

The fire went to three-alarms. There were no injuries.
